About Ridgefield Park

Ridgefield Park, located in southeastern Bergen County is a diverse suburban community with a population of over 13,000. It is a suburban community with a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial development. Founded in 1894, the town is bordered to the west by the Hackensack River and to the south and east by Overpeck Creek. It is one of only four of the 564 municipalities in the state with a village type of government.

The Ridgefield Park Public Schools include three elementary schools servicing Pre-Kindergarten through grade six and Ridgefield Park Junior/Senior High School for grades seven through twelve. District student enrollment tops 2000 students including many from the nearby town of Little Ferry, NJ who attend from grades nine through twelve. Ridgefield Park Schools are accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education and offer a variety of academic options, special programs and activities, academic enrichment, clubs, and sports. Our commitment is to create a strong, supportive, educational community where students flourish both academically and socially so as to become critical thinkers, independent life-long learners, and productive members of the community.

Ridgefield Park Public Schools mission

Our mission is to offer students educational opportunities that will foster lifelong learning and enable them to function politically, economically, and socially in a democratic society. Students will be assisted in becoming self-respecting individuals who reach their greatest potential. They will learn to act fairly in relationships with others, solve problems using effective methods, and think critically and independently.

Constant improvement of the educational program will focus on all students achieving the New Jersey Student Learning Standards at their respective grade levels. By providing essential resources and working with home and community, we will help students acquire the skills and knowledge they need to enter the workforce or pursue higher education, and to become responsible global citizens.
